Open iT® Launches LicenseOptimizer™

Open iT, a leading provider of IT asset metering and optimization solutions, announced today its launch of LicenseOptimizer™ a license optimizing tool that monitors activity levels of installed software. This allows companies to free up inactive licenses so they can be used by active users and high-priority projects delivering truly targeted licensing.

LicenseOptimizer works by detecting when software is not active, taking cues from keyboard and mouse activity, CPU usage, and I/O activity. Each customer defines its own business rules (thresholds) for when a license is deemed inactive. Once defined inactive the license becomes a candidate for being disabled and made available to other users. It effectively eliminates the situation of idle licenses, advancing IT resource optimization to the next level.
